Dr. Dale H. Poel, Ph.D.

Dr. Dale H. Poel, is a specialist in program evaluation, applied research methods and organizational change. He has conducted evaluation research for all levels of government and non-governmental organizations. He served as Director of Dalhousie’s School of Public Administration and, earlier, as Chair of the Department of Political Science. He is working now as a private consultant in social program evaluation. He is a Senior Associate with Goss Gilroy Inc.

He has applied his professional resources in program evaluation and research in the fields of health care systems and health promotion, municipal governance and service delivery, the administration of justice and organizational performance and capacity building. His international experience includes capacity building training for mid-career civil servants in the Government of Cuba. His recent work with GGI includes contributions to the evaluation of the Nova Scotia Employment Support Services Program and the evaluation of the Employment Benefits and Support Measures of the Canada/NS LMDA. He currently is assisting the CBA in a national assessment of on-line legal research tools and the Atlantic First Nations health community in the evaluation of band-employed nursing policy and guidelines.
