Since 2006, Cynthia E. Lynch is a Professor the MPA program in the Collage of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg Texas. From 2003 until 2006, she taught in the MPA program in the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Southern University as an assistant professor.
She received her B.A. degree from the University of Massachusetts at Boston in Planning and Management in 1993, the M.P.A. degree from Louisiana State University in 1996 and the Ph.D. degree from Southern University in 2003. In June 2008, she will be ordained as an Interfaith minister at St John the Divine in New York City.
Cynthia is active in the American Society for Public Administration, serving on the program committee for the 2009 national conference in Miami, and also serving on the boards of the Ethics Section and the Section on International and Comparative Administration. She often presents papers at the National Conference of the American Society for Public Administration, the Trans-Atlantic Dialogue on Ethics, the European Group of Public Administration, the International Institute of Administrative Sciences and International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration.
She is the president of Scott Balsdon Inc., a consulting company working in professional training in the areas of organizational design, ethics, and performance measurement. She is on the editorial board of Public Administration Quarterly and is the current editor of the Global Virtue Ethics Review journal and has written several professional conference papers, book chapters and refereed journal articles in the areas of organization development, nonprofit management, ethics and spiritual wisdom. In 1998, she co-authored The Word of the Light with her husband, Thomas D. Lynch.
