Ian Greene has taught public policy and administration at York University since 1985. He earned a B.A. from the University of Alberta, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. He worked in Alberta's public service for four years.
Greene is the former Master of McLaughlin College, and founding Director of the Masters program in Public Policy, Administration and Law. He is a past Chair of the University Senate. He is a member of the steering committee for the York Centre for Practical Ethics, and the executive of the York Centre for Public Policy and Law.
He is currently working on new editions of two books: Honest Politics (with David Shugarman), and The Charter of Rights. As well, he is working with Fred Fletcher and Peter McCormick on a study of the impact of social science evidence on courts.
