Caroline Andrew is Director of the Centre on Governance at the University of Ottawa and Professor Emerita at the University of Ottawa. Her research interests include municipal government , urban governance and municipal policies for gender equity and immigrant integration. She was Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa from 1997 to 2005. Her community involvements include being on the Steering Committee of the City for All women Initiative ( www.cawi-ivtf.org ), on the board of Women in Cities International ( www.womenincities.org) and the Lowertown Community Resource Centre ( www.crcbv.ca), a member of the Champions Table for Youth Futures/Avenir Jeunesse ( www.socialsciences.uottawa.ca/aj-yf/) and a member of the founding group of Citizens Academy ( www.citizensacademy.ca) . Current and recent research projects include a study of the implementation of the Equity and Inclusion Lens by the City of Ottawa, a study of the use and production of non-English, non-French media in Ottawa, a study of volunteering, a study of the francophone support networks for francophone immigration in Ontario.
